The fight against the AIDS pandemic continues. The number of mortals that live with HIV worldwide rises to 33 million. According to the UNAIDS report: «the total number of people living with HIV has increased by 7,500 new infections per day.» Research asserts that «the changes in sexual behavior have caused decreases in the number of new infections.»
It has been found that in those areas most affected by this deadly pandemic (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia), the danger of contagion has been reduced due to the fact that young people delay to start their sexual life. In Cameroon, the percentage of adolescents who had sex at the age of 15 was decreased from 35% to 14 %. «Almost all regions of the world, except in southern Africa, the infection by the aids affect the injecting drug users, men who have sex with men and sex workers,» says the study.
