According to the study published by Human Rights Watch and contrary to what protectors of the death penalty assert, the lethal injection, that kills the condemned person to capital punishment, can cause a huge suffering in the final agony. Moreover, the United States and China are leading the ranking of the countries with more death sentences. More than 2,000 prisoners in 22 countries were executed and more than 5,000 people were tried, said the International Amnesty. In the past 25 years, the number of countries that execute criminals to capital punishment has decreased 50 %. Mexico and Liberia are the countries that have abolished the death penalty in their legislation. The UN Commission on Human Rights ratified a resolution that suggests all countries of the world to prohibit the death penalty, protect the dignity and the inalienable rights of every human person in every moment of its existence, from the moment of conception until natural death.
